Valentines Day. People love it or hate it. Smile or cringe. Anticipate or dread. Seek out or avoid. We all have our unique feelings towards this traditional date. But what is the day really about? Is it just a day to send a love heart teddy bear and a box of Thorntons to the one you hold dearest? In Victorian times it seemed quite the opposite, instead of sending romantic letters, many would send letters of warning to their enemies or unrequited loves. Nowadays, in Ecuador and Estonia people use the day to celebrate friendships instead.

The other question is, why wait until Valentines Day to show affection to those close to us? Why not see everyday as an opportunity to send a heart balloon and appreciate those we care about. Afterall, we all could do with a dose of love these days and to only wait for one day a year seems a waste.
